The X Factor 2017 auditions! First audition dates revealed - here's how to apply

The X Factor 2017 auditions are on their way with try outs starting at the end of the month.

Yes, last year's show only finished weeks ago but you can (almost) already try out for this year's series.

And as as The X Factor returns on the search for the nation’s top vocal talent, you can take a trip down memory lane with this homage to The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover featuring the very first auditions of some of the most memorable acts of the last 13 years.

The X Factor will return to ITV later this year and the show's team is ready to hit the road on a nationwide tour in search of the next big breakout music stars to join this ever growing hall of fame.

Dannii Minogue hasn't spoken to Simon Cowell in six years

Dannii Minogue has revealed she's had no contact with The X Factor since leaving seven years ago.

Dannii was a judge on the show between 2007 and 2010 alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Sharon Osbourne.

But speaking this week, Dannii revealed she hadn't spoken to Simon or had any contact with the show since the 2010 final.

“I haven’t spoken to him and I have no idea what he’s said about the show," Dannii revealed to The Sun newspaper. “I have had zero contact with X Factor since I left. I haven’t seen it.”

'X Factor Australia' 2016 latest news: Mel B reveals the reason why she loves being part of talent shows

It has been a month since “X Factor Australia” wrapped its latest season, and one of the judges just came clean why she loved her job.

Melanie Brown or Mel B, who mentored this year’s Underdog acts, admitted that she loves doing talent shows. The 41-year-old former member of the 90s hit girl group Spice girls helped “X Factor Australia” contestant Vlado Saric land in third place at the grand finals. His equally young rival Isaiah Firebrace was crowned the winner.

According to Mel, talent shows such as “X Factor Australia” produce new stars, but there’s one more advantage: she can laugh at delusional ones. “You get to watch a star being born,” she told The Guardian during an interview. “You get to laugh your pants off at people who are delusional. You get to be part of a rollercoaster ride with somebody’s life. It’s great.”

Simon Cowell calls lawyers over rival Barlow's new BBC 'X Factor imitation' talent show Let It Shine

Simon Cowell calls lawyers over rival Barlow's new BBC 'X Factor imitation' talent show Let It Shine

They have been feuding ever since Simon Cowell gave Gary Barlow his marching orders from The X Factor – but now things are set to take a dramatic turn for the worse.

The music mogul is consulting lawyers over fears that Barlow’s new show, Let It Shine, which starts on BBC1 on Saturday, is so close to The X Factor and another of his music shows that it might infringe his rights. He has even informed friends that he is prepared to sue.
